How do you differentiate between a normal viral fever and the dengue fever?

People affected by viral fever experience fatigue, chills, body aches, headache and rise of temperature. 

Whereas, dengue fever, carried by Aedes aegypti type of mosquito has severe headache, pain behind the eyes, severe muscle and joint pain (for severity of pain it is called break-bone fever), rash and bleeding manifestation.

#1DAY1INFO : What is dengue fever?

Dengue is a mosquito-borne seasonal viral infection, caused by four closely related viruses (DENV 1-4). It gets transmitted by the bite of the female mosquito of genus Aedes. These domestic mosquitoes, thriving around human habitations, typically bite in daylight hours. They are easily recognized by their peculiar white spotted body and legs. The outbreak of the disease usually occurs in the post monsoon season when the mosquito population reaches its peak. More severe infection, known as dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), caused by the same virus, can be fatal if not detected at early stage.

COMMUNITY PROJECT #2: GOTONG ROYONG WITH MAPLE RESIDENTS

Assalamualaikum wbt and good day everyone!

Our second gotong royong for this month! Alhamdulillah and thank you for the support given by the community. The gotong royong was successfully carried out on the 20th of May 2017 which involved the Maple residents together with the teachers and pupils from our school. Dato' Amiruddin bin Setro, Jeram State Assemblyman, came to show his continuous support to #DenguePatrolSKSeriPristana. Those who came that day were privileged to be entertained by our very own live band which consists of talented musicians who are the pupils of SK Seri Pristana. The live band will also be performing around the area to promote awareness on Aedes and dengue. So, wait for their special appearance in your area! We'll update on the performances on these channels :

COMMUNITY PROJECT #1 : GOTONG ROYONG WITH MERANTI RESIDENTS

On 13th of May 2017, DenguePatrolSKSeriPristana together with Meranti residents in Saujana Utama worked together for a gotong royong activity. It was our first community project and it went well! Thanks to everyone who helped and participated in the activity. May this be a good starting point for many more community projects in the future. AMBUSH AEDES, STOP DENGUE!

LET THE FIGHT BEGIN!

On 7th of May 2017, Dengue Patrol SK Seri Pristana was very honoured to have Jeram's State Assemblyman (ADUN), Yang Berbahagia Dato' Amiruddin bin Setro, to officially launch Dengue Patrol SK Seri Pristana. A successful gimmick was performed by a group of pupils from Kelab Doktor Muda. Being such a great supporter of the programme , Dato' Amir, together with the pupils and our Headmistress, Puan Zazaluma binti Harun, successfully repelled the GIANT mosquitoes.
